Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Weigh Safe pintle hitch with built-in scale for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. Now, one of the standout features of this hitch is going to be this built-in tongue weight scale. So instead of guessing if your trailer is loaded right, you're gonna know every time you hook up. That's gonna eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales and it's going to make towing a lot safer. You're gonna have less sway, better braking, and way more peace of mind.
And this is a pretty serious piece of hardware. This is rated up to 15,000 pounds max gross towing weight and 1500 pounds tongue weight limit, so this is built for pretty heavy equipment, work trailers, or anything that really pushes the limits. This pintle hitch attachment will fit lunette rings of all sizes, and then this has the ability to be easily swapped from the pintle hook to a ball mount with a a compatible Weigh Safe ball mount. This only comes with the pintle hook attachment, but we do have this also available with the two inch and a two and five sixteenths inch ball as well. So if you want the balls along with the pintle hook attachment, we do have those options available.
But let me give you a brief demonstration of how you can use this pintle hook. We have this tethered, safety pin and clip, and so I'm gonna go ahead and just remove that. And then we have a lever right here and you just pull that lever and that's going to allow you to lift that latch up and then you'll just drop your lunette ring down, bring this back down, and then that's going to automatically secure into place. And then you'll just replace your pin and clip just like that. Now if you ever want to swap this out, if you ever, if you pick up balls later on, I just wanted to show you how easy that's going to be to do.
I'm gonna pull back this protective cap here that protects the keyway here. You're going to get two keys and I'm just gonna stick one of them in, give it a turn. That's going to unlock this dual pin slider lock just like that. And that's going to allow me to get that height adjustment that I'm looking for. This is going to give you about an eight inch drop, so you're not gonna be able to use this in the rise position.
So again, about an eight inch drop. And then I'm just gonna remove that shank. And I wanna show you, inside of the platform here, we have this key ring that's going to allow me to easily pull that pin out that secures the pintle hook attachment, just like that. And then you can just drop in your Weigh Safe two inch or two and five sixteenths inch hitch ball, and then secure it again with that pin. And I'm just gonna go ahead and replace the pin. So you can see how easy this is going to be to get the height adjustment, or swap out those attachments if you ever need to do that. I'm gonna line up my holes here, replace the dual pin slider lock, push it all the way in, turn that key, that's going to lock that back into place and then replace the cap and we are good to go. So the build quality is gonna be another plus. This is an all steel construction. And then it's got a great textured matte black finish that's going to not only make this look great on the back of your truck, but it's gonna do a great job of protecting it from rust, corrosion. So this is gonna be very flexible for you with that eight inch drop, you're gonna be able to handle just about any type of trailer, and you're gonna be able to keep that level with, those trailers level with your taller truck. And just some other measurements that you might be interested in. Measuring from the center of our pintle hook to the center of our first hitch pin hole, we're about eight inches. Moving over to the center of our second hitch pin hole, a little over nine inches. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about two and three eighths inches. So again, this is gonna slide into your two inch trailer hitch receiver. Weighs about 35 pounds. I wanted to point out that this pintle hook attachment is not gonna be compatible with the aluminum Weigh Safe drop hitch. So this attachment was specifically designed for the steel product line only. Now, we do have other variations of this available. Like I said, you can pick this up with two balls or you can get this for the two and a half inch or even three inch trailer hitch receiver or in a like a six inch drop, so if you don't need that eight inch drop. So quite a bit of other options for you if this isn't exactly what you're looking for. So if you can't find what you're looking for on our website, definitely reach out to us. Ultimately, we wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
